All my workshops are designed to give you the utmost opportunity to learn from me within a relaxed atmosphere at my new studio in Marine Walk Street, Hythe, Kent.
They are posted here from time to time as they can be arranged. Full details of each event, times and cost are displayed below. You simply hit the add to cart button and pay via Paypal. The event will display remaining places for each workshop and full when no longer available. I strongly recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment as spaces are often limited. Come and join me in the studio for a day of fun with this versatile and largely overlooked material. Time to enjoy and get messy with charcoal and chalk.
Watch me as I demonstrate just how far you can push this material to create some truly inspiring effects.
Then after lunch have a real go yourself with the practice out of the way. Follow me as I lead you through an image to its conclusion.
The day will commence at 10.00am and end around 5.00pm. The day includes refreshments and a lunch, also all materials, so just bring yourself and enjoy the day.

This event looks set, if the weather allows, to be a corker of a painting experience. Dungeness, the most Southeastern tip of England, wild and barren beckons us. From the lighthouse to Prospect Cottage ( Home of the late Derek Jarman), derelict fishing boats to all manner of interesting found objects. There is so much on offer at Dungeness, it is one of my favourite places to paint plein air. So come along and join me.
The day will start at 9.30 where we will all meet and talk about the coming day. At 10.00 a.m. I will paint a demonstration in oil, then its your turn, I will coach each of you as you work.
Lunch is around 1.00p.m. At 2.00 p.m. we move location where I conduct my second demonstration of the day for you in oil. Then again it will be your turn.
The day will be rounded off with an informal look and critique of our efforts, ending about 5-5.30. p.m.
You will need to bring all materials, refreshments and some money for a meal in the well known must eat place in Dungeness 'The Britannia Inn' no better fish and chips! Bring warm clothing even if it is sunny. I will send you a list of what is needed via email before the event, so please do not worry.
This event is open to artists of all ages and abilities, so why not let the great outside be your muse, and enjoy a day of painting En Plein Air.......... You will not regret the experience.
In the event of bad weather this event will be re scheduled .

A chance to take your studio out beyond the confines of your home. Whether you are new to plein air or have been enjoying its benefits for ages, this workshop is a must do.

Enjoy a day with me in the studio learning to paint boats from the most simplest of shapes, tenders to liners.
Watch as I paint a beautiful Thames Barge as it races along the Swale coastline in Kent.
After lunch it will be your turn as I show you how to complete your own beautiful painting of a Barge in oil or acrylic.
The day includes a lunch and refreshments along with a painting surface for you to work on. Please bring your materials paints brushes etc in either oils or acrylic.

This is a very special workshop as it runs in conjunction with my new book and dvd on the same subject. The day will start at 10.00am and end at 4.30pm. It will feature painting one of the puppies from the new book along with a demonstration of a dog. The price includes refreshments and a hot lunch as well as paper or supports to paint upon. Please bring your own materials to paint with, in oil or acrylics only.
I shall be selling signed copies of both the dvd and book for those wishing to have a set.
